Many of you may remember the original storyboards for 1986's Transformers: The Movie that
went up for auction on eBay a couple days ago (the listing is still ongoing by the way, if you're still interested in checking them out)! Well now, from the same eBay seller, we have an auction of the original storyboards for 1985's Generation 1 cartoon episode City of Steel.
Aficionados of the old cartoon may recognise City of Steel as "that episode where Optimus Prime got disassembled and turned into a robot alligator", and the storyboards up for sale do indeed cover that scene, as well as other memorable moments (like Sideswipe wrestling Starscream's jet mode in midair) and other deleted or revised scenes that didn't make it into the final episode.
Check out some images from the eBay listing (and the item description) below, view the listing
here, and place a bid if you're interested and have some money to burn! As always, if you have any thoughts feel free to let us know in the Energon Pub forums, and stay tuned to Seibertron.com for more Transformers news as it comes.
Transformers City of Steel Original Production Storyboards 1985
This is an original set of storyboards for the October 17th 1985 Transformers episode City of Steel, by Douglas Booth. These were obtained from the Sunbow studio back in the late 1980’s and kept in a dry, smoke-free environment far from harmful UV. These boards are hand-labeled Nelson, making this most likely Transformers producer (and AKOM studio owner) Nelson Shin’s personal copy. The storyboard features deleted and revised scenes, giving a rare glimpse into the production process of a three-decade-old cartoon episode. The boards have been authenticated by noted Transformers expert Jim Sorenson.
Transformers storyboards are incredibly hard to come by. They seem to turn up only every few years, and often sell for thousands of dollars. Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity! If you need any more information just ask. Lots more pictures below, take a look!
Please note this is very heavy, shipping will registered mail, fully insured, due to the rarity and weight. Due to ongoing problems I will NOT ship to anywhere in Asia other than Japan or anywhere in South America or the Middle East.

We were contacted directly by Transformers collector, archivist, and vault of knowledge Jim Sorenson, with another auction that may interest fans out there who seek for Transformers: The Movie memorabilia and artistic collectibles - such as the original animation cells or scripts previously newsed on this site - and this time, we have something fairly juicy for the right household: a Reduction Master edition of the storyboards for the animated feature!
The full information about the item (which has been confirmed as legitimate) can be read below, and the auction can be found
here. If this is something that might interest you, happy bidding!
Transformers The Movie 1986 ORIGINAL STORYBOARDS Full set 1000 pages
This is an original set of storyboards for the 1986 Transformers Animated Movie. These were obtained from the Sunbow studio back in the late 1980’s and kept in a dry, smoke-free environment far from harmful UV. This is the “Reduction Master Storyboard”, meaning it is one of the earliest generations of storyboards made during the production the film. (Storyboards are generally illustrated quite large; to make them more portable, and thus more convenient to be referenced, they are REDUCED in size to fit four illustrations to a page. Hence, “Reduction Master”)
The storyboard script features deleted scenes and incredible production artwork. It also offers a fascinating glimpse at what’s NOT in the movie, as some scenes were boarded and then cut BEFORE the creation of the Reduction Masters, or updated by the artist to reflect changes in the flow of the film. The legacy of these changes are represented by a blank square labeled “Out”.
The storyboards are approximately 500 pages long, each page double sided. The storyboards were created to plan out the design of every shot in the film. (It does not include ALL the known deleted scenes as some had already been cut by this point) The set does have some minor wear & wear to the edges, it is over 30 years old! A rare opportunity to get an amazing Transformers holy grail item. The boards have been authenticated by noted Transformers expert Jim Sorenson.
Please note this is very heavy, shipping will registered mail, fully insured, due to the rarity and weight. Due to ongoing problems I will NOT ship to anywhere in Asia other than Japan or anywhere in South America or the Middle East.

From fandom archivist and collector Jim Sorenson, we have a piece of news that may appeal to the more hardcore memorabilia collectors out there: an auction for small series of G1 Transformers animation cells, with all information listed below. Any bids should go via Sorenson directly, who can be contacted
here, but take a browse of the images below!
One of my Transformers contacts has asked me to help sell a few G1 Transformers cells, so I figured I'd do this low-key. At present they have five for sale: Optimus Prime, Decepticons at Sherman Dam, Slag, Ratchet, and Ravage. The seller requests anonymity, so I'm acting as (unpaid) intermediary.
How this works is simple. If you're interested in any of these cells, just PM me your offer. (Note that, unless you live in driving distance from Hollywood, you're going to have to add 3% for paypal and another few bucks for insured shipping on top of your best offer, so price that into consideration.) After a week I'll pass on the best offers to the seller. That might include conceivably include multiple offers on the same piece, if one person for example makes an offer on three of the five cells. If the seller agrees, you'll paypal the money to me and I'll ship you the cell.
They're all nice pieces, with backgrounds. I can authenticate that they're original Sunbow pieces from back in the day. Good luck to anyone whose interested!
EDIT -- because people are asking, there are currently bids in the low hundred dollar range for each piece. Because it's not an auction I don't want to get too much more specific than that.

While not strictly Trasformers related, this message is perhaps a smidge more important right now. After the events in Texas, and the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, a number of celebrities have rallied support and donations for the people affected by the storm and floods - among them, director Michael Bay and actor Mark Wahlberg, who have taken to social media to show their support and relief efforts.
Similarly, site sponsor The Chosen Prime have set up a charity raffle, with Takara Tomy Legends LG-43 Dinosaurer/Trypticon, 2 TFcon VIP tickets, and a Bandai SOC Megazord to be won, with donations to the Red Cross, the Houston Humane Society, and Heart to Heart respectively. You can read more about all this below.
1/ Giving a 100k back to the great People of Texas, where I filmed many years. It's such a time of need for them right now. I'm going to...
2/ disperse to various animal shelters. And figure how to get out of state car carriers to truck in inexpensive cars to give out to...
3/ families who lost a car and have no insurance. Every bit counts. Everyone should just give a little.
When tragedy strikes, it's our duty as Americans to lead the charge and help those in need. Our trucks are on the way! @Aquahydrate #Wahlburgers @diddy #hoUSton
Win a Takara LG-43 Trypticon by donating $5 to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey. All proceeds will be given over to the Red Cross in support of the relief efforts. Thank you in advance.
Every $5 donation is equivalent to 1 entry. Add more and help more! Show your Transformer Community Spirit by helping out in this cause.
The drawing of the prize is slated for September 8th, 2017. Prize winner will be notified via Email, and result will be posted on our Social Media Channels.
If you do not care to participate in this drawing, but would still like to help, please visit
http://www.redcross.org to donate.
*International entrants welcome, however winners will be responsible for shipping and and duties or taxes necessary.

Seibertronians, we have a very cool little piece of news for you. The Prop/Animation auction company
Profiles in History has released the listings for their upcoming Animation-themed auction titled
Animation And Disneyana, and the lots range from Tim Burton models to Disneyland employee costumes, and everything in between. Although those are some of the oddities of the line up, what the auction has plenty of is animation cells and other production artifacts from many classic examples of the genre, specifically from The Transformers original cartoon and Transformers: The Movie. These include a "Character Bible", with an original character model for every Transformer from the Sunbow cartoon, apparently packaged with a bio for each, listing strengths and weaknesses and characteristics. Other lots consist of colored cells of Metroplex and Trypticon battling, as well as scripts for the episodes "Rust in Peace" (or what would become "Cosmic Rust") "Grimlock's New Brain", "The Return of Optimus Prime", and, most importantly, the original script for the 1986 Transformers Movie. The Transformers lots actually come from the personal collection of G1 Production Coordinator Paul Davids!
There's too many amazing lots to list here, so take a look at some of the coolest of the cool below, but then check out the entire catalogue
here!(Transformers begin on page 36) The auction takes place on the 9th of December, and you can bid online, so Mark your calendars!
Please tell us in the comments: Are you planning to bid? If so, on what lot? Did you end up winning? And, as always, stay tuned to Seibertron.com for all the latest Transformers news!

While he remains the only figure of Titans Return Wave 3 to not get a youtube review, some interesting news comes from fellow Seibertronian
Bumblebee21 - a listing on
Taobao.com for a prototype of the upcoming Leader-Class Sixshot. At the time of writing he is currently going for around 144 US Dollars; and even if you're not considering bidding yourself, it's certainly interesting to see pictures of the figure's prototype. Check out the link and images below and tell us what you think in the Energon Pub!

Seibertronians, you got $20,000+ currently burning a hole in your pocket? Well, we might have the buy for you. It turns out
another unreleased G2 Stunticon prototype set has hit the ebays, with the bid currently sitting just over $1,000 USD at time of writing, although if the previous listings for the set are any indication, this combiner team can easily fetch 20 times that. That previous indication, of course, being when a different G2 Menasor prototype sold for
over $26,000 USD. This will be one to watch, as this set is more complete than the former, so it could garner even higher numbers.
Did you bid? Did you win?! Let us know in the comments below!

Seibertronians, we've got something interesting for you, courtesy of our own
ScottyP. While everyone's looking towards
Amazon today, I'd like to re-direct your attention for a moment to Ebay. A user there by the name of
protoprimex, a seller who seems to mainly deal in Transformers, listed
this, a Transformers RPM Bumblebee in a new deco that was exclusive to the Hasbro Employees of 2009, up for sale.
We assume this was for a holiday promotion within the company, due to the winter-themed printing on the backing card. It also potentially lists out the departments this exclusive bug was sent to, or the subject matter the company worked on that year, on the back of the packaging:
Thanks for all your hard work!
Brand Creative Studios, Corporate Communications, Corporate Shows, Design & Development, Digital Media, Engineering, Finance, Global Brand Marketing, Global Consumer Insights, Hasbro Far East, Integrated Marketing Services, Legal, Model Services, Operations, Quality Assurance, Sales & Marketing, Senior Management, Uproar!
If you want to own a rare piece of Transformers merchandise, the auction is still open until Friday, the 15th of June, at 6:45 PST, and it's going for the reasonable price of $53.71 USD.
What are your thoughts on the Deco? Do you like it more or less than the
Hasbro Version? Did you place a bid? Did you end up winning the auction and purchasing it? Please let us know!
And, of course, keep your optics and audio sensors tuned to Seibertron.com for all the latest Transformers news.
